Manual Machinist (DeVlieg)

Job Description:

Join our 1st shift team, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm. The Manual Machinist will set up and operate our DeVlieg machines mostly so DeVlieg experience is a must. Other machines may include Bridgeport type machines, lathes, & large radial drilling machines. Local candidates only please.

Job Responsibilities:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Ability to read, follow and understand prints, manufacturing instructions and quality plans.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of work situations.
  • Mathematical ability – basic math calculations (addition, subtractions, multiplication and division), work with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Able to stand for long periods at a time.
  • Able to safely lift 70 lbs.
  • Good manual dexterity.

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Machinist tools.
  • Overhead crane operation.

Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description:

Rockford Manufacturing Group (RMG) is a small Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of wire processing machinery that is sold worldwide. We are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to help build the machines we produce.  The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be one of five resources.

Traits

The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented and have strong people skills to deal with all departments in the company effectively. A self-starter who knows the importance of meeting deadlines is critical. A desire to work in a small company and wear many hats is needed vs. a focused set of responsibilities found at larger companies.

Well qualified candidates will possess high school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five (3-5) years manufacturing background and mechanical assembly experience. Must be able to read blueprints and use precision instruments with a strong emphasis on attention to detail. overhead crane operation experience also preferred. Must have your own hand tools.

Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with piers, manufacturing, engineering and purchasing departments
  • Ability to understand and execute basic standard procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
  • Ability to perform basic assembly skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and air tools.

Purchasing Position

Job Description:

Rockford Manufacturing Group (RMG) is a small Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of wire processing machinery that is sold worldwide. We are looking for a Buyer who will work in a team of three and report to the V.P. Supply chain. The position will provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge in all aspects of negotiating, selecting suppliers, issuing POs, following up,

RMG is a data focused company so strong computer skills are needed.

 

Education / Experience: The successful candidate will possess a associates degree in business or related field with three-to-five years’ experience in purchasing and/or planning.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure continuity of supply for assigned commodity groups supporting final assembly, sub-assembly, fabrication, warehousing and aftermarket operations to meet 100% on time delivery

 

  • Ownership of supplier relationship and management of schedule, order, release, expedite and timely receipt of necessary materials

 

  • Maintain PO due dates and quantity changes on a regular basis and communicate changes to suppliers and RMG

 

  • Monitor and review material planning requirements (MRP)

 

  • Utilize lean, continuous improvement tools and manage order parameters in MRP systems to meet and exceed inventory goals

 

  • Negotiate price, terms, quantities, and deliveries for contractual agreements between RMG and suppliers.

 

  • Material productivity commitments including pricing, long term agreements and engineering driven cost reductions

 

  • Work with Supply Chain Department to improve techniques, methods, standards and procedures used for supplier evaluations and selection

 

Desired Capabilities:

  • Candidate should have an understating of the supply chain, including manufacturing capacity, execution and logistics.
  • Experience or prior work experience in a OEM facility a plus

 

  • Experience with Epicor is preferred

 

  • Self-directed, detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of ownership and accountability capable of managing multiple-tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment

 

  • Strong analytical skills

 

  • Skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
